We set and maintain standards which exceed BICSc standards and we believe are the highest in the industry. Our Contract Cleaning Services will:

  • Produce & update a Cleaning Specification individually tailored to your requirements.
  • You will be given a dedicated Contract Manager or Managers (depending on the volume of the contract) who will be in charge of supervision of our operatives and will liaise with your dedicated contract liaison employee.
  • You will receive Weekly/ Monthly Reports from our Cleaning Management  System
  • Flexible Contractual Terms which means that all your requirements can be adjusted at ad hoc basis

Health & Safety

Lumena Ltd is extremely conscious of Health & Safety requirements in the work place, and does its level best to be fully compliant with all relevant Health & Safety regulations. Our contract cleaning services deliver the highest possible standard of Health & Safety for staff and clients expect and deserve. The general well-being of every person involved in our activities is of paramount importance; this includes our own personnel, our clients and all visitors to our client's premises.

Our health and safety procedures are well documented and include as follows:

  • Health and Safety Policy,
  • Generic and Site specific Risk Assessments for both specified cleaning activities and
  • The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
  • We operate a colour coding system for all clothes and mops and where appropriate our staff is provided with the necessary PPE protection.
  • Our machinery is regularly checked to see that it complies with the Electricity at Work Regulations and is PAT tested annually.

Moreover, before commencement of the contract and during it Lumena Ltd implements the following systems:
All of our staff receives induction training at the commencement of their employment which includes basic training in the aspects of Health and Safety and COSHH that is applicable to their job.
Lumena Ltd materials, equipment and methods of working conform to the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and any amendments thereafter.
Lumena Ltd requires that there employees have access to the client’s First Aid Facilities, in the unlikely event of an accident, any consumable would be replaced. For safety reasons Lumena Ltd also requires a copy of where your fire exits are and emergency procedures.
Should you have an alarm system fitted and Lumena Ltd employees are required to set the alarm, then Lumena Ltd will requires contact names and numbers should a problem occur.
Lumena Ltd has full Liability Insurances as required by Law in respect of accidents which may occur to employees during their work time on the client’s premises and indemnified against Public Liability risks up to a maximum of £10,000,000 in any one claim.

Insurance

As you would expect from a professional company Lumena Ltd carries extensive insurance - our standard cover for Employer's Liability is £10m and £5m for Public and Products Liability - our staff are all fidelity guaranteed and insured to hold keys and alarm codes. Criminal Records Bureau

Criminal Records Bureau helps employers in the public, private and voluntary sectors identify candidates who may be unsuitable for certain work, esp ecially those involving contact with children or other vulnerable members of society. Lumena Ltd is registered for disclosure with the Criminal Records Bureau to vet the suitability of its staff for any such position.

Monitoring Quality &Time Keeping Software


Lumena Ltd invested heavily in a computerised Monitoring Quality & Time Keeping System which stream-lined our administration in relation to payroll time. It also has benefits for the customer as reports of time worked on their contract can be produced. It can act as a form of communication as we can leave messages for the cleaner and they can leave messages for the office staff. It has benefits for lone workers under Health and Safety as it notifies us if the member of staff has not clocked in or out, which we can react to as if the member of staff has had an accident etc. The system uses a 0800 number so there is no cost to the customer. This system has been one of the best investments we have made as a company and we believe gives as an edge over our competitors in relation to service and communication.
